Variegated coleus produces vivid fuchsia centers fading to yellow and green at the margins. Very easy to grow. An oft-reported ingredient in indigenous entheogenic preparations, contemporary accounts of coleus intoxication are mixed, with some reports of a buccal route of administration producing effects, while others report no psychoactive result. Much of the mixed nature of bioassays is probably attributable to the many subspecies and cultivars of coleus currently out there. Regardless, we've selected this particular cultivar for its striking coloration and ease of growth. Prefers full sun but can easily be grown under artificial lighting as well. Ideal for windowsills. Water when topsoil is dry or when leaves droop; it recovers very quickly.
